The 5th annual Festival of New Trumpet Music runs from September 15 to 30,
2007, with an expanded roster of performances and educational events.
Dave Douglas and Roy Campbell started this festival at Tonic in the
summer of 2003 to celebrate and demonstrate the diversity, vibrancy,
and richness of New Trumpet Music. Joined by fellow director and
trumpeter Jon Nelson, of the Meridian Arts Ensemble, in 2006, FONT
Music continues to grow in new directions, commissioning 5 composers
in 2006 and five more in 2007.
Taylor Ho Bynum, Mark Gould, John McNeil, and Jeremy Pelt recently joined our curatorial board. FONT Music is now a NYC non-profit entity. That means you can
now support the creation of new trumpet work in a snazzy, tax-deductible fashion. Please do so.
